ATHLETICS
All sports programs have started here at MSK.  A reminder: to access Rank One athletic schedules, simply click the following link on our MSK webpage:  http://www.rsu21.net/msk-athletics-announcements.

Sports photos will be taken after school on Thursday, September 21st. Picture forms were distributed to athletes by their coaches and students should bring a completed form with payment on Thursday. You can also pre-order online at lifetouchsports.com with picture day ID #LG387549X0. LifeTouch customer service can be reached at 1-800-287-4667 if you have any questions.

HOMEWORK HELP
Academic Homework Help begins this Monday, September 18th and takes place every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday after school until 3:50 p.m. Please remember that this is an academic assistance program and not meant as an after school care program. Late buses are available for transportation home.

MSK PTG
The PTG would like to remind parents and students about the fundraising Superwalk next Friday, September 22nd. Students should come to school that day with appropriate footwear and dressed for the weather. Sunscreen is also recommended! Pledge envelopes can be returned to your advisor at any time. Thank you to those students who have already returned their envelopes! 7th GRADE KIEVE REMINDER - SEPTEMBER 19TH
The 7th grade parent information meeting regarding the Leadership School at Camp Kieve is scheduled for Tuesday evening, September 19th at 6:30 p.m. here at MSK. Please contact your child’s advisor if you have any questions or concerns. 

AFTER SCHOOL SNACKS
Snacks are available to purchase every day after school in the MSK cafetorium until 2:15 p.m. Purchases are made through student lunch accounts and meet the smart snack guidelines. Power Snack Packs are only $1.00 and include student choice of 3 items from a selection of foods. Options are available for students who qualify for free and reduced meals.

SECOND CHANCE BREAKFAST
The MSK cafe offers 2nd chance breakfast between 1st and 2nd blocks in the main lobby for any student who would like to purchase a breakfast meal or snack.  We offer grab and go meals with cereal or breakfast items for $1.75 or free if you qualify for free or reduced meals.
 
7TH & 8TH GRADE DANCE
Our 1st dance is scheduled for September 22nd. Our times have changed!  Dances take place from 6:30pm - 8:30pm and are open to all 7th and 8th graders.  The cost is $5.00 -- refreshments will be available for purchase. Please note that the January dance date will be changed due the school musical scheduled the same weekend.

CLYNK
CLYNK bags are available at the office with tags already applied. THIS IS AN EASY WAY TO HELP MSK RAISE FUNDS BY RETURNING YOUR BOTTLES AND CANS USING THE CLYNK PROGRAM. To redeem bottles and cans: Fill the CLYNK bags, take your bags to any Hannaford, then scan each bag with the hand scanner and place your bags inside the unlocked door at any Hannaford/CLYNK bottle return location. Your bottles and cans will be sent to CLYNK to be counted and a credit will be applied to our MSK CLYNK account to be used for student support. PLEASE HELP YOURSELF TO CLYNK BAGS ANY TIME YOU VISIT MSK!

MSK CLUBS - 1ST QTR
A variety of clubs start up at different times throughout the school year depending on student and staff interests.  Below is a list of current clubs.  We will announce new club opportunities as they happen both in this weekly bulletin and through student announcements during the school day.  Stay tuned!

CIVIL RIGHTS TEAM
The Student Council will be holding its first meeting on September 27th at 8:00 a.m. in room 705.  All students in grades 6-8 are invited to participate. We welcome new members and look forward to seeing past members attend this first important meeting.  We will be discussing projects and fundraisers for the year as well as planning ahead for Spirit Week. The advisors are Mrs. Thomson and Mrs. Grant.  We hope to see you there! 

OUTING CLUB
The MSK Outing Club is all about getting together to have fun adventuring the outdoors while sharing our passions. The outing club is open to all grades and takes place every Tuesdayafter school (weather permitting). Students can sign up on the whiteboard in front of the office. STRATEGY GAMES CLUB
All MSK students are invited to come and play a variety of strategy games such as, chess, Risk, Stratego, Moncala, Pandemic and others. Students are encouraged to bring any non-electronic board game or cards they would like to share as well. This club takes place on Wednesdays after school in Mr. Coleman’s classroom (room 710) on the following dates: 9/13, 9/27, 10/18, 10/25 & 11/1 . GIRLS WHO CODE CLUB
This girls only club aims to close the gender gap in technology.  Girls learn to build apps, design games, build websites, and develop friendships through code. This takes place on Thursdays after school in the Swift Center beginning 9/21 and continues throughout the year. KENNEBUNK TO QUÉBEC TRIP (Memorial Day Weekend 2018)
Mr. Tad Williams, will be taking interested Kennebunk students (grades 7-12) to Québec City over the Memorial Day Weekend . The trip is scheduled for May 26-28, 2018. This is not a school-sponsored trip. 

We’ll stay at the oldest and the best located hotel in Old Quebec, dine at some of the best restaurants, walk the most significant streets with a professional guide, and tour inside some of the most interesting buildings. We’ll head outside Quebec City to tour the stunning Basilica of Sainte- Anne-de-Beaupré, and marvel at the Montmorency Falls from its observation decks and the suspension bridge that spans the Montmorency.
