New Principal to be Nominated for MSK

It is with great pleasure that we announce Marty Bouchard as the nominee for principal of the Middle School of the Kennebunks! Marty’s nomination will be heard by the RSU 21 Board of Directors on April 2nd. After 25 years serving the educational communities of northern Maine, Marty and his wife have made the decision to move to south, bringing them closer to their son and daughter who will both be attending and playing basketball for Bentley College in the fall.

The past president of the Maine Principals Association, Marty has been the principal of Houlton Middle/High School, serving students in grades 6 through 12, for the past 14 years. Prior to that, he served as an assistant principal and athletic administrator.

Thank you to everyone in the district who took time to help us get to the point of nominating a new principal.

Twelve hundred students and parents participated in a survey around what personal attributes mean the most to them and over 100 staff members partook in a forum to identify key areas for future growth. A selection committee of eleven staff and administrators narrowed our search 3 qualified candidates. Each candidate spent a half day at MSK meeting with small groups comprised of staff, students, and other district administration.

Taking into account the feedback from the surveys, forums, search committees, and small groups it was clear that Marty would be an ideal fit for the Middle School of the Kennebunks. Our search was a true community effort to find the perfect fit for our school. Once Marty is approved by the School Board, we will host a community meet and greet opportunity at Middle School of the Kennebunks.
