Leadership School at Camp Kieve

For the sixth year, the Middle School of the Kennebunks has visited The Leadership School at Camp Kieve in Nobleboro, Maine. This opportunity is made possible by funding from the Education Foundation.  Students take five required classes each day: Skills, Relationships, Decisions, Adventure, and Team Building.  Each class is activity-based with heavy doses of whole group discussions.  After the school day is done, students participate in two choice activities and an evening program.

Classes are led by energetic, college-educated staff;  they explain and process the units with discussion and hands on application.  These talented classroom educators make reflection an integral part of the students' learning - but they also make it fun.

The four day overnight experience helps transform students into more confident, self-assured individuals.  The program promotes kindness and respect to others and makes students aware of their environment. They also learn to be become leaders and solve many challenges along the way.  By the end of the week, children accomplish more than they could ever imagine.
