The RSU 21 School Board and Administration are moving forward with a third revised, student-centered budget following two unsuccessful referendum votes earlier this year. We have carefully listened to community feedback and worked to address concerns while maintaining our commitment to providing quality education for all students.
Important Upcoming Dates
Thursday, September 11 at 4:00 PM: Finance Committee Meeting
The Administration will present the revised budget to the Finance Committee for detailed review and discussion.
Monday, September 15 at 6:00 PM: School Board Meeting
The full School Board will review and vote on the revised budget. Community members are encouraged to attend.
Tuesday, September 30 at 7:00 PM: District Budget Meeting (KES Gym)
Community members will have the opportunity to directly vote on each cost center before the full budget heads to referendum.
Tuesday, November 4: Budget Validation Referendum
The community will vote on the final budget proposal.
Community Engagement and Transparency
Throughout this budget process, we are committed to increased communication about why supporting our budget is essential to keeping RSU 21 schools strong. We have incorporated feedback from previous budget discussions and worked to develop a proposal that addresses community concerns while ensuring our students have the resources they need to succeed.
The School Board recognizes the importance of finding a budget that both serves our students effectively and gains community support. Transparency and community engagement remain our priorities as we work together toward this goal.
