RSU 21 welcomes new Director of Human Resources

KENNEBUNK, Maine - RSU 21 is pleased to welcome Dawn Therrien as the new Director of Human Resources. 

Therrien brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, further strengthening the district’s commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace.

Therrien served on the RSU 21 School Board of Directors from 2020 to 2023 and chaired the Human Resources Committee for two years. She represented the School Board as Chief Negotiator and worked collaboratively to ratify collective bargaining agreements across the district’s five unions. 

“I am excited to join RSU 21,” Therrien said. “I look forward to working with the talented HR team and everyone across the district to build upon the strong foundation already in place and to contribute to RSU 21’s continued success.”

Therrien earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from West Chester University in Pennsylvania and a master's in public administration from Bowie State University in Maryland. She is also a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

“Dawn has proven to be a valuable member of the RSU 21 community, and I am excited to have her join the district as our new Director of Human Resources,” said Superintendent Dr. Terri Cooper. “I am confident that Dawn will hit the ground running because of her extensive HR experience and her commitment to the RSU 21 mission.”
