Assessment

RSU 21 embeds assessments into the instructional programming to monitor student achievement and growth at grades K-11. This assessment data also informs instructional planning. We are fortunate that one of these assessments, the NWEA, is also currently the assessment used required by the Maine Department of Education at grade 3-8 and grade 11. This assessment monitors Reading, Language Usage and Mathematics. AIMSWeb is used at grades K and 1 and RSU 21 uses Dial 4 for Kindergarten screening.

RSU 21 also uses information from two curriculum-program assessments to guide programming- the NEASC Accreditation and the IB Program evaluation.
