Maine Regional School Unit 21 will open its schools with full in-person instruction, five days per week for the 2022-2023 school year. All programs and services offered by the District will be available to students and families. RSU 21’s Welcome Back School Plan is a result of collaborative actions taken by the Maine Department of Education, Maine CDC and the Maine Department of Health and Human Services on June 30, 2022.

The Maine CDC’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Responding to a Positive Case in Schools was retired on June 30, 2022. In its place, schools should follow pre-existing communicable disease protocols.

The “Maine Schools 30 Day COVID-19 Case Report” dashboard was retired.
Because COVID-19 remains a notifiable condition, RSU 21 will continue reporting all laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 positives, to the Maine CDC. In addition, high absenteeism remains reportable when 15 percent of the students or staff are absent due to illness.
