The Regional School Unit (RSU) 21 Facilities Department is a focused, driven team of professionals working together to meet or exceed district goals, align with the district Mission Statement, and provide a healthy, safe environment conducive to learning and growing.
The department is comprised of three primary mission branches; Custodial Services, Maintenance, and Groundskeeping.
The Custodial Services Branch handles all aspects of daily cleaning and school preparedness. The cleaning philosophy is “cleaning for health”. RSU 21 is expanding their use of “Green” cleaning products for the health and safety of all.
The Maintenance Branch consists of three employees: one specializing in plumbing/heating and two specializing in woodcraft and general maintenance.
The Groundskeeping Branch consists of three employees. Responsibilities include field preparation for athletic events, district lawn care, parking lot cleaning, plowing, and striping, playground safety, and surrounding wood and field areas owned by RSU 21.
The department leadership team consists of the RSU 21 Facilities Director, Robert Pearson, and the Facilities Manager, Alyce Swan.
The Facilities Department is keenly focused on providing an exceptional environment for learning and is proud of the district’s buildings and grounds. The department is temporarily located at Kennebunk Elementary School until our future spaces are complete at Kennebunk High School.
