KES Newsletter - October 25, 2018

Hello KES Families,

I hope you are well today and that you are enjoying the brisk turn in the weather. Schools in Rangeley Maine had a snow delay this week , so lets consider ourselves lucky…. It has been a quiet week here at KES, so I have only a couple of reminders for you today.

The first one being that permission forms for our November 2nd Flu Clinic are due back no later than this Friday October 26th (tomorrow!). Thank you for sending those in. With cold and flu season upon us, we encourage all staff, students, and families to consider getting their flu vaccine this season. Flu season runs each year from October through May. Influenza is highly contagious and a major contributor to missed school and work days for both children and adults. Aside from hand washing and avoiding contact with individuals who exhibit influenza-like symptoms, the flu vaccine is our best way to defend yourself against influenza this season.

Also, an ELL (English Language Learner) form was sent home in hard copy form with all Kindergartners this week. If Kindergarten parents could please fill out the form and return it to school by November 2nd, that would be greatly appreciated!

Tomorrow morning we will welcome all of our Pre-K classes at Friday Morning Meeting for the first time. It is our annual Halloween Safety assembly, and we start at 8:30am. In addition to our Pre-K Welcome and Halloween Safety, the assembly will include a STEM presentation of pumpkin catapults featuring Mrs. MacLeod’s class, a “Tootie Ta” motor break featuring Mrs Baker Koch’s class, a seasonal read aloud, and Bus Driver Appreciation. We hope to see you here!

On a similar note, our annual Veterans Celebration will take place two weeks from tomorrow, on Friday November 9th at 8:30am. If you or someone in your family is a US veteran or an active service member, we hope you consider participating in our assembly. Military uniforms are welcomed, but not required. Please RSVP and provide Contact Information, Military Branch and Rank to Linda Mattuchio at 985-4402 on or before Friday, November 2nd. Pre-K Classrooms will not be in attendance at this particular assembly, however, if you have a Pre-K child who will have a family member participating in the assembly, we encourage you to have them attend with their family. Please call the KES office if you have any questions. We really hope you can be with us that day!

Have a great weekend!
