Dear KES families,
I am so pleased to be writing this “guest column” for the next few weeks during Ryan’s absence, and will begin by letting you all know that he is doing well and is eager to be back at school following his medical leave. Over the next couple of weeks I will share with you some information about our brand new pre K program as well as give you an update about some of the professional development work that we are undertaking this year, so look for those updates beginning next week.
The children all seem very happy to be back at school, and we have had a productive first few days back at KES. Now that the winter weather has returned, please remember to send your child with gear for outside play daily. This includes snow pants, boots, coats, hats and mittens as we really believe in the benefits of time spent outdoors when the weather allows us to get out there. The snowy days are the most fun during Maine winters, and when children are dressed for the weather, they have a wonderful time during recess.
As a reminder, next week we will have a schoolwide assembly and the pre K children will attend. It begins at 8:30 on Friday, January 11th and should be another wonderful opportunity to connect as a full school community.
Have a wonderful weekend with your sweet children.
