KES KEPTA Newsletter

Hello KES Families,

I hope you are well today. Please enjoy this special “KEPTA” edition of the KES Newsletter. First, I wanted to let you know that at the RSU 21 School Board meeting tonight, KEPTA will be presenting their ambitious proposal and fundraising campaign for an incredibly inclusive new Playground at KES. This playground would not only meet standards for ADA  (Americans with Disabilities Act) access and compliance, but would be designed to be truly inviting and engaging for all individuals. The School Board meeting will begin at 7:00 sharp in A102 here at KES, and is open to the public, so please come and see the incredible plan that KEPTA has been working on!

Second, I wanted to let you know that The KEPTA Family Fun Night fundraiser on March 16th brought in $1893.50, with $1372.86 of that being profit. This money will help support field trips and teacher grants for the coming year. And also, the KES Spaghetti Supper for Honor Flight Maine that KEPTA hosted on April 3rd brought in $1259.00 with $1063.66 of that being profit. And 50/50 raffle winners that night included KES parent Dave Guthro and KES grandparent Lisa Verano. Both Mr. Guthro and Ms. Verano generously donated their winnings back to Honor Flight Maine.  Many thanks to everyone who supported one or both of the events!

KEPTA asked me to include a reminder for parents to sign up to provide food this Wednesday for the KES Teacher & Staff Appreciation Lunch. They still have many slots open that they are trying to fill!

And finally, two reminders from my newsletter last Friday:

KEPTA is looking for a third member of its governing board. If you’re interested in giving back to KES, our teachers & kids, it is a terrific way to get involved! Anyone interested should email or message KEPTA at

SRS will be seeking 2-3 board members for the PTA for the 19/20 school year. At a minimum they need a president and treasurer. If you have interest please contact Angie Morin or Rebecca Axelsen, or email They would be happy to talk to you about the responsibilities.  Detailed information will be left to the new board to facilitate a smooth transition and Angie will be available for consultation through the school year next year.

 Have a great week!

Mr. Quinn
