MSK Weekly Bulletin - Thursday, April 11, 2019

MARK YOUR CALENDARS
Below are some important dates to remember. The complete list of upcoming dates can also be found on the middle school website at https://www.rsu21.net/msk/

April 12 - NO SCHOOL (Friday)
April 15-19 - NO SCHOOL - VACATION WEEK
April 30 - Sebago Team Asia Family Night - 6 pm (this was moved from 4/24)

AFTER SCHOOL BUS ASSIGNMENTS
Beginning after April vacation, additional buses will be at MSK to pick up at the end of the day.  That means most students will no longer need to get on one bus at MSK and change to their assigned bus at KHS to go home.  SO, beginning Monday, April 22, 2019, at the end of the day MSK bus students will board directly onto their assigned bus and ride it all the way home.
Two buses will still transfer at KHS: Bus 17 will take Bus 8 students to KHS and Bus 12 will take Bus 36 students to KHS.

AFTER SCHOOL CLARIFICATION
With the weather getting warmer, we would like to remind parents that students who stay after school are limited to those who have made arrangements to stay under the supervision of a staff member. This includes participation in co-curricular activities such as sports, MSK clubs, and those receiving extra academic help [homework help or meeting with a teacher]. We appreciate your support as we ensure a safe and supportive after-school environment.

Recently we have had a few students who want to practice a sport outside or just simply hang out and then catch the late bus. This is not allowed because we need to have all students who stay after school be under the supervision of an adult while here at MSK. If you have any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to contact the main office.

AWS Youth Community Service Program:
The Animal Welfare Society has two new programs for students to earn community service hours.  Please see the link for details.  https://animalwelfaresociety.org/events/category/volunteer/youth-volunteers/

Track & Field 2:15-3:45 KHS

7th & 8th Grade boys lacrosse 2:15-3:45 KES

Please make sure that you have completed all of the necessary forms on Rank One prior to the season starting.

Track & Field Athletes - Practices will be held at Kennebunk High School. Students should take their normal bus home after school to KHS, get off, and walk to the track. If students need the late bus home, they will get on at KHS.

Lacrosse Athletes - Lacrosse practices and games this year will be taking place at Kennebunk Elementary School. Transportation will be provided to and from KES after school. Students needing the late bus will be picked up at KES at 3:45 and brought back to MSK in order to take the late bus home. Any lacrosse player not taking the late bus should be picked up at KES.  8th boys and 7th girls will practice 3:45-5:15 but the bus situation still applies to them if they cannot get a ride from a parent to KES for 3:45 pm. A coach will be there to hang out with them until practice time if needed. Please see the attached information sheet for further clarification.
