May 14 - Allagash Team to Boston Aquarium and IMAX 7:45 - 3:30
May 22 - All Chorus Night at KHS - 7:00 p.m.
May 31 - Solar Car Day

The MSK PTG is hosting the annual Staff Appreciation Breakfast next Wednesday, May 17th, to show our thanks to the wonderful staff members of MSK. This breakfast would not be possible without the help of the fantastic parents of the children here at MSK. *Please note that this is a late start morning and the teachers will enjoy all this before our kids even arrive at school. 

We will need help on that day, as well as help with food donations. If you are able to assist in any way, we would really appreciate it! 

1. Volunteers
-set-up: Wednesday 5/18 at 6:30 am (6-8 people)
-serving: 7:15-8:15 am (6-8 people)
-clean-up: (6-8 people)---from about 8:15 until 9:00 am

2. Food and/or Monetary Donations
All food donations can be dropped off Tuesday, May 17th between 7:30 and 4:00 in the office (there will be a cooler there), or between 6:30-7:15 am on Wednesday morning, May 18th.
To make this easier, we have listed suggested donation items by grade:

6th grade: Juice and Water (apple, cranberry, OJ, bottled water)
7th grade: Prepared fruit (washed and cut up) in large zip-top bags or disposable containers---each person can do just one or two types of fruit. We did this last year and were able to combine them all into a large bowl for a fantastic fruit salad!
8th grade: Baked Goods (Pastries, Muffins, Breads----Homemade or Store-bought).  Gluten-free options would also be appreciated!

Please contact us at if you are able to donate any of these items (and specifics of what you will be bringing, if possible).  This way we will know what we will have and what we might need.

We would also be happy to accept monetary donations, which may be dropped off at the office any time between now and May 15th. (Checks can be made out to MSK PTG.)  Your money will go toward rounding out the morning’s menu. Thank you for your help, and for your continued support of the PTG!

Don’t miss out! Dear 8th Grade Families:
The MSK 8th grade teams will hold a THANKFUL FOR YOU meal for the senior citizens of our community on Wednesday, May 29th at 9:30 AM in the MSK cafeteria. Biddeford Savings Bank is sponsoring and funding the dinner as our community partner.  The students will plan the event, decorate the space, create the menu, serve the food and provide the entertainment.

We need your help in two ways.  
First, we need food donations.  Although the meal is paid for by Biddeford Savings we do ask for dessert and roll donations from 8th grade families.  Please use this Sign-Up Genius link to donate: .  
Secondly, we are asking you to please distribute invitations to relatives, family friends, or neighbors who are 50 plus years of age.  You can do this by forwarding the attached PDF of our invitation or your child can ask for a printed copy at school.  This person (or people) will be your child's guest for the event. On  May 23rd and 24th, we will be hosting our tenth annual day-long French and Spanish Market experiences in the MSK Cafetorium.  Thanks to assistance from parents, community members, and local businesses, the past nine years’ events have each been a huge success!   If you are interested in helping out, please sign up online at the URL addresses provided.  We will confirm with you by phone or email.

Do you like to run or walk?  MSK is excited to be forming a team for the Kennebunk Beach Classic 5k in support of The Center. This event is open to all walkers and runners on Sunday, June 2 at 9:30 a.m. Entry forms are available in the MSK office. For RSU21 staff, students, and their families, the entrance fee is only $10.00.


GSA Club:
Catie Williams, Dylan Rogers, and Annabelle Morin have created the GSA Club for their community service project.  This club is for LGBT students and their allies.  The club will meet Wednesdays after school beginning on Wednesday, April 24.
Kennebunk Food Pantry
Stacey Ames, Bella Hirst, and Nina Parsons are collecting non-perishable food for their community service project.  Please bring a non-perishable food item to contribute to one of the collection boxes in the lobby and the by the elevator.  Donations will go the Kennebunk Food Pantry.
Local Blood Drive Dates:
Emily Mains, as part of her community service project, has listed several opportunities where you could go to give blood.

Homework Help runs every Monday-Wednesday that school is in session from 2:15 until the late bus. Students are required to stay the entire time until 3:45 unless a parent calls the main office to dismiss them early. Homework Help advisor, Nicole Desjardins can be reached at with questions.  

CLYNK bags are available at the office with tags already applied. Fill the CLYNK bags, take your bags to any Hannaford, then scan each bag with the hand scanner and place your bags inside the unlocked door at any Hannaford/CLYNK bottle return location. PLEASE HELP YOURSELF TO CLYNK BAGS AT THE MAINE OFFICE ANY TIME YOU VISIT MSK!

A variety of clubs start up at different times throughout the school year depending on student and staff interests.  We will announce club opportunities as they start up both in this weekly bulletin and through student announcements during the school day.  Stay tuned!

The Civil Rights Team is a club that engages our school community in thinking and talking about issues related to race and skin color, national origin and ancestry, religion, disabilities, gender (including gender identity and expression), and sexual orientation. Student Council is open to all students in grades 6-8 and we welcome new members. The advisors are Mrs. Thomson and Mrs. Grant and they can be reached at and with questions.

Outing Club is back for the spring and new members are welcome. Mr. Costello is the advisor and can be reached at for questions. Sign up on the whiteboard outside of Mr. Costello’s room (711) to attend. You can check out all of the upcoming offerings at

The MSK Ultimate Frisbee Club starts next week and will play every Tuesday and Thursday until June 6th.  The club plays informal pick up games until 3:30 and is open to all grades -- no prior experience with the game is required.  Please meet in Mr. Kugler’s room after school (room 714, at end of the 7th grade hallway) and the club will walk over to the West Kennebunk field to play.  Players will return to MSK by 3:45 in time to catch the late bus.
