Dawn Therrien, SHRM-SCP is Chair of our HR Committee and she and her family live in Kennebunk, Maine. Dawn loves HR! From local nonprofits to multinational defense companies, her experience spans many areas of human resources including strategic planning, talent acquisition, employee engagement and retention, total rewards, technology management, employee and labor relations, risk management, and U.S. employment law and regulations. During her time on the school board, she has also served on the Finance Committee, the Board Negotiations Team, and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion ad hoc Committee. In addition to serving as HR Committee Chairperson, she is also the School Board's Chief Negotiator. Her undergraduate degree is in Psychology and she earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Bowie State University. Dawn was also awarded a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion certificate from the University of South Florida. She is a professional member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and earned her SHRM Senior Certified Professional designation. In her spare time, Dawn enjoys walking her dog at the beautiful Kennebunk Land Trust Preserves. She and her family enjoy spending time in Rangeley where they love alpine skiing at Saddleback and swimming in Rangeley Lake.
Megan Michaud is an HR Committee member and she and her family reside in Kennebunkport. She has nearly twenty years’ experience working in developing and advocating for public policy and hiring, managing, and guiding successful teams. She is currently serving as the Director of External Affairs at Maine Center for Economic Policy. Megan is a graduate of Kennebunk High School and Colby College. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, walking in the woods with the family dog, and trying to keep up with her three kids.
Peter Sentner is an HR Committee member and he and his family reside in Kennebunk. During his career as an administrator of mental health programs, his responsibilities included hiring and supervising large groups of employees - sound HR policies and practices were key to the success of the programs that he supervised. Peter has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Master’s degree in social work from University of Chicago. He and his wife, Joanne, have ten grandchildren most of whom live nearby. Peter loves spending time with them and watching them grow physically and emotionally, and especially enjoys attending their sporting events. In his spare time, Peter enjoys playing pickleball, walking on Gooch’s Beach, and downhill skiing. He is also active with his church, South Congregational Church in Kennebunkport. Before joining the School Board, Peter served as a Community Representative on the Policy Committee and continues to serve on this committee.
Tim Stentiford is an HR Committee member and he and his family live in Kennebunk. Tim spent 25 years of his career as a Human Resources Communication Consultant working with large private sector and higher education clients on health care, benefits, compensation, employee engagement, web services, and change management. Among the firms Tim has worked, include AonHewitt and Mercer HR Consulting in New York, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. During his time on the school board, he has also served on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion ad hoc Committee. In addition to his work on the HR Committee, Tim is on the Board Negotiations Team and the current Chairperson of the Communications Committee. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Communication from Northeastern University. In his spare time, Tim enjoys hiking, traveling (90 countries and counting), automobiles, and history. He is a supporter of Out and Equal Workplace Summit, and an ardent advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Alison Riggieri, Ph.D. and her family are residents of Kennebunk and she is a Community Representative on our HR Committee. Alison has spent the past 15 years of her career in the human resources field, both in consulting and corporate settings. As a consultant, she worked in the HR analytics and pay equity spaces, helping companies identify drivers of employee behavior and satisfaction. In addition, she implemented pay equity studies for companies across sectors, including financial services and healthcare. After consulting, Alison joined State Street where she currently serves as Managing Director of Organizational Design. In this role, she leads projects to drive workforce transformations and to improve HR processes through the use of technology and process optimization. Alison earned her Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Doctorate degree in public policy from Georgia Institute of Technology. In her spare time, Alison enjoys skiing with her children and catching up on reading.
Louise Sandmeyer and her family are residents of Kennebunk and she is a Community Representative on our HR Committee. Louise is a former manager of Penn State’s Human Resource Development Center, where she was responsible for faculty and staff training and development. Louise has also worked as a career development and placement counselor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration. Louise enjoys being a community volunteer and in addition to her work supporting our HR team, she volunteers her time on the Kennebunk Free Library Board of Trustees. Her professional career has been in higher education in various administrative positions. Before retiring she was executive director of the Office of Planning and Institutional Assessment at Penn State and a founding member of the National Consortium for Continuous Improvement.
Miriam Whitehouse and her family are residents of Kennebunk and she is a Community Representative on our HR Committee. Miriam is a retired Microbiologist who worked thirty plus years in a hospital setting and then five years in a reference laboratory. While working in healthcare, she rewrote the hospital’s performance evaluation guide for laboratory employees. Miriam has served her town of Kennebunk on various committees the past eight years. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Asian Studies from Connecticut College. She is a registered Laboratory Technologist and in her spare time, she loves to read, swim, and bake. Miriam is an animal lover, wife, and mother to two sons. She has always been a believer in making change at a grassroots level.
