BL - AWARDS PRESENTED BY BOARD OF SCHOOL DIRECTORS
The purpose of the School Board of Directors Awards program is to recognize a person, group, or organization that has demonstrated outstanding achievement during the past year(s). The awards serve to boost morale through tangible evidence of appreciation of performance, and encourage community residents, business and community/civic group involvement.
Recommendations will be made by the Administrative Team in conjunction with the Board. The Superintendent identifies the recipients. The presentation will be made by the Chair of the Board.
The RSU 21 School Board of Directors (Board) may present awards each year, including but not limited to the following:
Special Achievement Award:
Presented to a person, group, or organization that has demonstrated outstanding achievement during the past year(s) for an entity within RSU 21.
Sportsmanship Award:
Presented to a person, group, or organization that has demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship during the past year(s) for an entity within RSU 21.
Payson Hunter Award:
An annual award known as the Payson L. Hunter Award shall be given by the Board of RSU 21 to a member of the community for outstanding dedication and service on behalf of the schools in Arundel, Kennebunk, and Kennebunkport. This award is in commemoration of the services provided to the District by Payson L. Hunter.
Civil Rights Award:
Presented to a person, group, or organization that has demonstrated outstanding civil rights leadership during the past year(s) for an entity within RSU 21.
